While we are riding a bit further before camping and pretending to be worn out, Ashling will explain the brief comments she made in session.
"Regarding Sorina, I just mean to warn you all that the only things I have heard about her are bad. She is known to be an assassin by the Dragon Knights of which Lord Sebrindir, Cross’s father, is the leader. They have been dedicated to fighting the cult for the past 2000 years and I believe that if Sorina’s group, as large as she says it is, was also fighting them they would know it. I also find it very odd that if they have the resources Sorina says they do that they have never attacked the cult hideout in the sewers, seeing as they know exactly where it is. Or if they didn’t wish to do it themselves, why not tell someone else, like our group as she claims to know about us? It is inexcusable to me that she would just let them go on murdering people unmolested when they have been in the position to do something about them for some time. I think that whatever her true purpose is, even if she is not allied with Zoriada, it suits her very well to let the cult go on doing what they like in Shieldmeet.
"And as for Kazi as a source of information, I know she had a tendency to act dippy at times, but she was no fool and had good sources for her information. Sorina is her cousin and she did kill at least one of her family members. Most recently it was her brother who was only a child – likely killed by mistake as Sorina meant to kill Lord Rudolph, but that only shows a sloppiness and disregard for who else she puts into danger. I did not fully trust Lord Rudolph either, but that doesn’t mean we should let Sorina blind us simply by acting like a kind hostess. In fact, Kazi mentioned Sorina when she was attacked by that drow, remember Flint? She said her cousin was a witch hunter and I think that makes more sense than her story about fighting the cult. I am sure you understand why I did not want to say these things in her presence or that of her cohorts, my priority being to get back to Shieldmeet alive and as soon as possible."
